I found this book boring and some of the part of the book does not make me feel excited about. In the end, I did not finish this one.
Well this book caught me by surprise. I got into reading the reverse harem genre and this is a very different take on that including hot vampires! What's not to like, right? The story is about a girl who stayed alone most of her life without any friends. She however finds friends in the most unlikely place. I read this book three times now and I like it a lot and personally can't wait for the next one.
If you're a fan of reverse harem, you'll love this book. An amazing start to what is sure to be a memorable series, book one was full of twists and turns! Full disclosure, the first chapter or so was difficult for me. This is true of most first chapters in most first books in most series' for me. So I forged on and I DO NOT REGRET IT. I read the whole book after work today. I only put it down for emergencies, like eating and using the restroom. Lol.

OK - with apologies to the cover artist, the cover creeped me out totally. However, I like the author so I gave the book a chance. I'm so glad I did! The writing is excellent, the characters well-rounded, and the story line keeps you turning the pages. I already purchased Book 2 and if I can keep my eyes open (due to lack of sleep), I plan on going right into Book 2 without a break to find out what happens. Well done, Brandy Slaven, well done......
I loved this book. While I enjoy RH with new adults, it was so refreshing to read one with actual adults having grown-up relations. Not only that but with such hot vampires. Liam is such a sweetie and Killian is a delicious bad boy, but Ryder, oh Ryder is one badass MF. Absolutely scrumptious. Ms. Slaven has written a nice tight plot with great characters and good world building. There are definitely monsters, but in this series they are mostly the humans. I recommend this book to all fans of vampires and especially to fans of RH. I am so looking forward to October 13th as that is when book two comes out. Enjoy! (I know I did) 😀
I've been branching out and looking for more. Reverse harems are fun. I rate books on my enjoyment factor. There were holes in the plot I could drive a truck through ... But I would consider buying the next book.
I absolutely LOVED this book!!!! I am an avid reader and read often. (ok.. lets be honest I'm a bookaholic lol) But I was finding that I was in a funk and couldn't really find a book to catch my interest. Then I stumbled upon this wonderful find! And a whole new genre was introduced. I mean I love paranormal books. Add in the RH theme and I was hooked! I liked the progression of the book. Sometimes stories are slow in the beginning and I really enjoyed that Brandy just jumped into the story without it feeling rushed. It was as if everything was just clicking into place for Mel. You can tell that she has had a hard go of it and she is due for the happiness that comes into her life. I also liked that Mel stood up for herself when it was needed. Of course it never hurts to have a few big strong men to jump to your rescue. But I have to admit it makes the story so much better when the female is a badass all on her own ;) I want to go on and on about how great this book is but I don't like to give spoilers so I'm going to shut up while the gettings good ;) Hit that 1-Click button quick you wont be disappointed.
