Tonia Brown has obviously gotten too comfortable with this Railroad! series. I loved the first two, but this volume was phoned in. It's not much of a story, but what really drove me insane was the incredible number of verbal gaffes -- mistaken use of some words, wrong homonyms ... I don't think anyone spent 5 minutes for proofreading. For a man like Rodger Dodger who can quote Marcus Aurelius, well, he deserves better.But Volume Three is still good enough that I'll continue on to Volume Four.

Tonia Brown unfolds a story that constantly changes, hinged on the character. Her character development moves everything along in an extremely interesting way. Every character is a complete person and, even with their quirky flaws, you want to be there and get to know them more. I judge a book by how quickly I fall asleep when reading it, and with this... I was awake all night and had to make myself put it down.
The third installment of Tonia Brown's steampunk western Railroad! Volume Three The Trouble with Waxford is out and, yet again, we are put on our toes to find out just what IS the trouble with Waxford. Rodger Dodger is sent by the Professor to the mysterious town to procure an ingredient needed to help the dog soldiers (see Volume Two Dogs of War) . We quickly learn why everyone onboard the Sleipnir was so tight-lipped regarding the town's inhabitants. With the help of the ghostly Boone and a few of the Professor's gadgets, Rodger gets things settled, but will he come out unscathed and with the ingredient so desperately needed?
Brown has given us yet another fun, action packed, sexy romp in the wild west with the crew of one of the world's most badass trains. I highly recommend this series for all who enjoy a great story with creative gadgets and laugh out loud lines spouted by delightfully quirky characters set amongst a background of saloons, brothels and, of course, trains.

Did I mention I LOVE these stories?! Think Wild Wild West meets the Dark Tower. Again I wish I had the patience to wait and read for them all at once but.... Great series! MORE PLEASE!
I love this series so far, I just have some issues with volume 3. First off, there are many more spelling errors in this volume than the first two that make it more difficult to follow. Second, where are the bookmarks in the menu to take you to each chapter? To me, this is a must have feature of any ebook that volumes 1, 2, and 4 all have.
